Freestyle Tour
We kicked off the Freestyle tour this past Wednesday right outside Atlanta. The line up included Frank Stewart (BMX), CZ (Hiphop artist) and DJ Promote. We did a few school assemblies and invited people to come check out the show. The church that brought us in was amazing to us. They made things a lot easier for our team to focus on the ministry. Even with my attention on the ministry, I have to be honest, this was a really hard outreach for me. I just want to have peace and be faithful as to what God wants to do in and through me, leaving the results entirely up to Him.
Sometimes skating is good and on point and sometimes not so much. The message part can be rough, too, or it can be clear and precise. I sometimes struggle with being a good performer/communicator because this is my job. I know that people giving their lives to Jesus has nothing to do with my skating or speaking even though I do have high expectations. When things turn out different than what I had expected, it is hard for me to find peace with that. All I know is our team was stoked knowing this event planted seeds. We each had a good time hanging out & sharing the love of Jesus. I hope the people who brought us in know how much we appreciated their encouragement and hospitality.
Here is a pic of me skating on stage.

God bless and thanks for your prayers.

Hutchinson, Minnesota
I was in Hutchinson, MN with my good friend Manafest who is a recording artist signed by Tooth & Nail. We did an outreach involving multiple churches in this somewhat rural (snowy & cold) area. We had a blast going to schools and getting some time to skate and talk about Jesus. We decided that I would go on stage first to skate and speak. I preached a heavy message about the cross of Christ (the crowd of 300+ was absolutely silent) I know God used this effort and we were able to plant alot of seeds. Manafest took the stage next and immediately began pumping the crowd with loads of energy then he shared his heart as well. I was stoked to see denominational boundaries crossed as we all served this community together as the body of Christ. This is a pic of us before flying out of Minneapolis. You can tell by our joyful faces how much we like freezing cold weather.
Note to self: bring a real jacket next time.
God bless & thank you for your prayers

Liberty Church
I was in Pensacola FL for an outreach at Liberty Church this week. My friend Nate Wheeler invited me back for this New Years 2010 outreach. I have been at this church a few times before. My favorite thing about this outreach is knowing that the leadership takes the initiative to cover everything they do in prayer. It is no surprise to me that every time I’m here, we see so many people make a decision to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. Last night was another amazing testimony that I will always carry with me. Even though sometimes I feel tired and burned out, God is so faithful and gives me strength and encouragement and a real peace and joy in doing this ministry. In our weakness He (God) is strong. I am so thankful for all your prayers for my wife and I.

New Year 2010
Happy New Year to you guys. I have been reading this book called: God’s Generals by Robert Liardon. It covers the men and women of God who had tremendous faith and walked in the fullness of God. It has biographies on John G. Lake, Smith Wigglesworth, Charles Parham, William Seymore, John Alexander Dowie, Evan Roberts, Aimee Mcpherson, etc.
This book has been so encouraging to me to see others not confined to the common ways of “church” but have this freedom in Christ. You see the Holy Spirit demonstrated in power.
This book also reveals the trials and error of each of these people and I see myself in that too, looking for what I should be aware of. Anyone who has read their Bible knows that not many who start out well finish well. As for me, all I want is to hear God say on that glorious day is: “well done my good and faithful servant”.

December 2009
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
This is our church banner from Solid Rock! (The church we attend)
My trip to Texas went awesome this past week. I got to speak at this church’s youth group- it was great! We even had a few local skaters show up and one of them received Jesus. We skated until it was time to shut the lights off and go home. It was a fun night. This is a very busy Christmas week for us with the ministries we work with, as well as our personal family time. I thank God for this year and for opening our eyes and hearts to more and more people who need His one and only son (Jesus).
Thanks for your prayers.
Go shine the light of our Lord Jesus.

Foolishness
I just watched this short film called “Foolishness” that is directed by Pro skater Brian Sumner. A lot of guys from Reliance and Siren Skateboards were threaded throughout as well as one our Untitled skaters Tom Geilfuss.
The reason for this write up is this Christian based skate film was different from alot of the stuff I’ve seen or have been in. All the skaters shared scripture with a few brushed testimonies that flowed together well. A good blend of skating was combined with the Gospel message that was mostly given by Brian throughout the film.
I was stoked to see a well done vid with the Word of God laced throughout. The title gives reference to 1 Corinthians 1:18 “the message of the Cross is foolish to those who are perishing, BUT to those of US who are being SAVED it is the power of GOD.” This scripture is what I personally use anytime I share the Gospel. The same context we find ourselves in today is the same context Paul found himself in when he penned these words. In all actuality, this scripture is and always will be timeless in any setting because the truth is we are perishing without Jesus saving us. The message we preach about the cross of Christ sounds crazy or (foolish). But to know now what it is, to be saved from our wicked ways, we speak of power that can only come from God and the pain and suffering He embodied as He gave His life for the sins of the world through Jesus Christ. Therefore the message is absolute power because it is absolute Truth.
I am thankful for each of these guys who shared God’s word with boldness and compassion.
All for Jesus.

In Thirty Years
I woke up this morning feeling burdened and overwhelmed with my gifts and what God is calling me to. It was that time to get up and spend time with God in prayer and ask for peace and wisdom. 2010 will mark 10 years in full time skateboarding ministry. I have been able to see and do so much that if it all stopped right now, I could humbly say I have done far more than I ever dreamed. Even more than that, I am thankful that I know God, and that it pleases Him to know my heart is to want nothing more than to glorify Him.
When I think about all that I am currently doing and looking ahead, I know I cannot do this skateboarding stuff forever (right?), my fear is being an awkward guy with a big gut on stage flipping a board and telling people about the good old days. Now, sharing the love of Jesus will always be my life and calling. It’s being the old, awkward skateboard guy trying to hold on to relevance that freaks me out. I know, for right now, God is calling me to “rip it up” in a small 8×8 square on stages all over the U.S. and to share His word and love for this lost and dying world that is crying out for truth, and by that I mean Jesus. I am excited to see what God has for us as we press on in this ministry in 2010. Oh, and if God still wants me to do this for another 30 years and be that old guy on wheels (maybe a walker) so be it. After all, being a fool is mere perspective.
It is all about Jesus.

NGA Conference 2009
I was at the Luis Palau NGA conference a few weeks ago and I got a photo with some good friends that I haven’t see in years. The guy on the left is Tom Geilfuss. He rides for Untitled Skateboards. He is such a leader that my good friend and owner of Untitled, Jud Heald, is training him up. Tom is a ripper on a skateboard you can see his part in Who We Are @ www.untitledskateboards.com.
Speaking of Jud Heald, he is the crazy guy with his arms out. Jud is like a big brother to me. He has seen me grow into the man of God that I am today. Jud and I did our first tour together in the Fall of 2000. We promoted the movie Extreme Days, we were with KJ52, Beanbag, MG The Visionary, and Pax 217. I was on my first national tour just 2 months after giving my life to Jesus. Jud and I have been bros ever since. He is one of the best park skaters I have seen. What I love most is Jud will do what it takes to see people come to Jesus. I am so thankful to be a part of Untitled Skateboards.
The other guy is Paul Anderson. He is the pioneer of the very first SkateChurch. It was started in the mid 80’s by two freestyle flatland skaters…. imagine that! I met Paul in 2002 at a Luis Palau festival in Seattle. He is one of the first skater/evangelists I witnessed that preached the word of God with clarity and authority. Everyone could hear the urgency in his voice for people to know Jesus. Paul is one of my hero’s.
Then there is Uli. I just met this guy and his wife. They have a worldwide ministry called Christian Skaters. Uli and his wife, Toni, live in Florida. This couple is on fire for Jesus. If that sounds weird, it means they really love God and want to impact the world through skateboarding ministry.
God bless all of you, hope you are having a good Holiday season. Thank you for checking this out and praying for us. The following is my Dec. schedule:
1-3rd) Nashville, TN
15-17th) Snyder TX
31st-1st) Lynchberg, VA
